About
Elizabeth’s Bookshop & Writing Centre was founded in 2020 by Rachel E. Cargle to amplify marginalized voices. As Akron’s only Black-owned, woman-owned, and queer-owned bookstore, we curate books that challenge perspectives and inspire change.
With shelves and events at Akron’s Northside Marketplace, plus workshops and meetups, we’re more than a bookstore. We’re creating space for conversation, learning, and connection through the power of storytelling.
Independent Bookstore Day Hours:
(Saturday, April 25th)
9am-7pm
Regular Hours:
Mon: Closed
Tue-Sat: 9am-7pm
